Chambered in 7.62mm NATO/.308 Win., the Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle (SFAR) from Sturm, Ruger & Company is the latest addition to its modern sporting rifle lineup, fitted with the Ruger Elite 452 trigger and upper and lower receivers CNC-machined from 7075-T6 forgings. It features an oversized magazine well, forward assist, dust cover and brass deflector. Barrels are cold hammer-forged with 5R rifling and finished with a black nitride finish. The handguard features Magpul M-Lok accessory attachment slots and both models — 16- or 20-inch barrels — feature a Magpul MOE SL stock and MOE grip, 15-inch Lite free-float handguard and one 20-round Magpul PMAG magazine.
