Sellmark Acquires Kopfjager Rifle Rest

Sellmark Corporation has expanded with the acquisition of Kopfjager, which was founded in 2012 with a rifle rest designed to help improve stability and accuracy.

The sale is effective immediately and Sellmark has assumed Kopfjager’s day-to-day operations. Kopfjager now joins Sellmark’s other brands — FireField, Pulsar, 12 Survivors and Sightmark — headquartered in Mansfield, Texas.

Kopfjager was founded by two SWAT officers, Garret Hellinger and Matt Banes. Based on their law enforment experiences, they wanted a rifle rest to help minimize human factors, especially those that are stress-induced, detrimental to precise shot placement. They also wanted to ensure their shooting rest solution was lightweight and mobile, yet rock-solid with fluid horizontal and vertical tracking.

After numerous redesigns and in-field testing, Hellinger and Barnes created the Reaper Rest. This tripod-mountable system helped change the way law enforcement and military operators were able to engage targets with precision accuracy. Shortly after the Reaper Rest was developed, Gabe Snyder joined Kopfjager as a partner and began managing product design and development. His efforts enhanced design, development and patentable innovation efforts and, in 2015, Kopfjager unveiled the Reaper Grip.

Hunters and competitive shooters also took notice, further expanding the footprint of the innovative rest system.

“Kopfjager’s position as a leading rest manufacturer committed to enhancing shooting experiences for law enforcement and military personnel, as well as recreational hunters and shooters, made it a perfect fit in our family of brands,” said Sellmark Founder and CEO, James Sellers.
