ArmaLite is adding a new series of rifles to its lineup. The Defensive Sporting Rifle series consists of three models, two chambered in 5.56 and one in 7.62.

The DEF15, chambered in .223/5.56, has a 16-inch chrome-lined chrome moly vanadium threaded barrel mounted with a flash suppressor. The gas block has a MIL-STD 1913 rail for mounting front sights or accessories. The forged aluminum upper receiver is railed and both the upper and lower receiver are anodized. It has a single-stage trigger and comes with a 30-round Magpul PMAG magazine. It has an MSRP of $699 and comes with ArmaLite’s limited lifetime warranty.

The DEF15F matches the DEF15 except it trades in an A2-style front sight post and gas block for the railed gas block on the DEF15. It also has an MSRP of $699.

The DEF10 is chambered for .308/7.62 and has a 16-inch threaded barrel with a flash suppressor. It has a front gas block with a rail and anodized forged aluminum upper and lower receivers. It has a tactical rail on the upper receiver and an adjustable stock. The DEF10 has a single stage trigger and comes with one 20-round Magpul PMAG. It has an MSRP of $999 and also comes with ArmaLite’s limited lifetime warranty.

“These rifles represent ArmaLite's commitment to our customers and the shooting community as a whole,” said Walt Hasser, Vice President of Product Management. “Our goal was to make legendary ArmaLite quality available at a previously unattainable price and we met that goal. We're excited to see new shooters and new ArmaLite customers have an economically viable avenue into the AR community.”

Tommy Thacker, President of ArmaLite, adds, “I am proud of what our product and engineering teams have been able to accomplish in a short period of time. The Defensive Sporting Rifles series is the first of many new products to come from ArmaLite.”
