SIG Now Shipping MPX

Sig Sauer just announced it is in full swing producing and shipping to dealers the much-anticipated MPX pistol.

The company says it's shipping the pistol in 9mm in three variants: one without a stock or brace, one with an SB-15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace and one as an SBR.

One of the most highly anticipated new SIG SAUER, Inc., products, the SIG MPX™, is now on its way to distributors. Semi-automatic SIG MPX in 9mm should begin to appear on retailers’ shelves within the next few weeks.

This 21st century take on the submachine gun platform has been one of the most talked-about new products since its reveal, and legions of SIG SAUER® fans have been eagerly awaiting this release.

“We made the decision to start shipping the 9mm variants of the SIG MPX rather than continue to delay its launch as we finalize testing on the .40 and .357SIG variants,” said John Brasseur, Director of Product Management for SIG SAUER, Inc. “We now have the 9mm variants in full production and will be shipping on a daily basis.”

SIG MPX-P (pistol), SIG MPX-P-PSB (pistol, with SBX Pistol Stabilizing Brace) and SIG MPX (short-barrel rifle) is available as semi-automatic options for the civilian market. A carbine-length model is in development now. Select-fire submachine gun variants will be available to military and law enforcement agencies.

MSRPs range from $1,500 to $2,000. But the interesting thing is, the MPX closely resembles the CZ Scorpion which is already well along on store shelves. It's very similar and comes in at several hundred dollars below the Sig MPX.

So if you were in the market, which would you buy? Take our poll and let us know.
