Hornady Sets Dates for 2019 Zombies in the Heartland 3-Gun Match

After requests for more zombies this year, the eighth annual Hornady Zombies in the Heartland 3-Gun Match will have events for everyone from beginner to expert level.

The match is set for May 31-June 2 at the Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, Neb. Operated by the Grand Island Parks and Recreation Department, the Heartland Public Shooting Park is the largest and most complete public shooting facility in the Midwest. The facility hosts regional and national events, drawing shooters from around the world.

New for 2019 is the Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) Division, which features AR-15 style firearms chambered in pistol calibers including 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. This is a new, two-gun division in which competitors utilize their PCC in place of handgun and rifle.

Early registration for past competitors opened Feb. 9. Returning competitors will receive an email with a registration link and more information. General registration opens at 5 p.m. CDT Feb. 13. A sponsor reception will be May 30 at Riverside Golf Club.

The match will feature 10 competitive stages and five side-match stages. Shooters will find new  and reactive targets developed specifically for this match, with most targets breaking, falling over or moving. Participants will be required to compete with a pistol, rifle and shotgun.

With an unusual, challenging course of fire, Zombies in the Heartland typically attracts shooters from across the country and outside the United States. Average annual attendance has been 400.

Hotel rooms can be reserved at the Boarders Inn and Suites, 3333 Ramada Road, Grand Island, Neb. Mention Zombies in the Heartland for reduced rates.
